The Deanmill Football Club was established in 1918. The history of the club is quite unique as there are many generations of fathers & sons who have played throughout the years with the club. A family orientated culture has been developed over many years of continued tradition being passed from one generation to another.
Many a great footballer has come from Deanmill Football Club & gone on to achieve in the highest levels such as AFL & the WAFL.

A number of these players represented our state with distinction also.
The L.S.W.F.L was incorporated in 1959 since that year the Deanmill Football Club have won 16 League flags & a number of Reserves & Colts flags .In the 16 flags won in League there has been 2 back to back Premierships 1990 & 1991 2008 & 2009 . With that we won a treble of premierships in 1972, 1973 & 1974 Coached & Captained by Harvey Giblett.
The culture is entrenched in these players after playing for Deanmill for a life time when they start playing many a time they play there complete playing days there. With that we have 4 players who have played over 300 league games George Rice, Harvey Giblett, Michael Spiroff & Todd East which all became Life Members.
The Year of 1997 bought to the club a new logo The Mighty Hawks a new look Guernsey & a new club song. The first year of the Hawks we won a premiership at our home ground. Since the introduction of the Hawks in 1997 we have won 4 flags 1997, 2002, 2008 & 2009.
The change over from the big V or the big men fly at the mill to the Deanmill Mighty Hawks & song change from the who are who are we to were a happy team at Deanmill were the mighty fighting hawks was a very lengthy consultation process . We needed a name & jumper design that carried our culture through to the next generation & in time we carried that tradition on. Maroon & gold colours with a hawk & our old trade mark of DFC which stands for:
“DEANMILL FOOTBALL CLUB & DEDICATION FELLOWSHIP & COURAGE”
Deanmill Junior Football Club
The junior football club has a very strong competition with solid numbers (over 100 children registered). Made up of 5 age groups Auskick, Year 4’s, Year 5-6’s, Year 7-8’s & Year 9 -10’s. Deanmill Juniors has been a force in their competition by opting to select a committee, coaches and volunteers who have the football future of these kids in their best interests.

The Junior club aim is to teach Both Boys & Girls the basics of Australian rules football & to develop all players to not only be entrenched in the culture & deep history of this club but to also be the best people possible for our community.
The senior & junior clubs have had a great working partnership over many years, and make it a great stepping stone from one level to the next. With this partnership our ongoing development of footballers is in good hands
They train on Wednesdays & play Saturdays & welcome anyone who wants to be involved in a great club to feel free to join in.
